J'IRAI A L'ECOLE (I will go to school) is a non-profit association created in 2016, whose purpose is to fight against the early school leaving of Malagasy children.

JIAE helps finance and operate schools lacking resources and supports families who cannot afford their children school fees. While relying on the teams of local actors and of course the teachers, JIAE wants to promote access to school and the quality of education.

To achieve its goals, J'IRAI A L'ECOLE develops child sponsorship programs and support for educational structures resulting from local initiatives.

Education is the most effective way to promote social and professional integration. It is also the best weapon in the fight against poverty.

Fighting against school drop-out

In Madagascar,1.5 million children do not attend school.Their only future lies on the street and in odd jobs.

In the suburbs of Antananarivo, the  Malagasy capital, schools are often oases in the middle of a desert of poverty.

92% of the population lives on less than 2 dollars a day (1.71€), therefore below the poverty line.

In this context, many parents do not have the financial means to provide an education for their children.

The association J'IRAI A L'ECOLE aims to combat the lack of schooling for these poor children.

THE PROJECT SCHOOL OF THE LITTLE GIANTS

The premises of the school we were supporting were a real obstacle to improving our actions. The school was in fact only a modest dwelling house.

It did not offer any of the minimum working conditions that any school worthy of the name should guarantee.

The construction of a real school with a social vocation guaranteeing reduced tuition fees and suitable teaching conditions was an absolute necessity.

The construction of the SCHOOL OF THE LITTLE GIANTS was a real challenge for J'IRAI A L'ECOLE. Today, it is a great success that allows more than 200 young children threatened by early school leaving to attend school.

We are now continuing to develop this project in order to keep these children in school and to further improve our actions.
