WORKING FOR EQUALITY FOR GIRLS AND BOYS

Collapse the gender gap in access to education

Support girls'education

As in many African countries, young girls from disadvantaged backgrounds in Madagascar are less educated than young boys.

For some households, sending a girl to school can lead to a loss of income or contribution to household chores. If the young girl goes to school, she will not be able to watch over younger siblings or help sell in the market or on the street.

Families may also not be able to afford school fees, supplies and uniforms. In this case, we will devote the few resources of the household to the education of the boy, considering that it is a question of a better investment.

J'IRAI A L'ECOLE wants to work for gender equality in access to education by raising awareness among families. Educating young girls allows them to become independent, free and participate in the development of their community.
