Health and hygiene education is one of the activities of J'IRAI A L'ECOLE, which organises annual medical check-ups for every pupil.
This week, two doctors visited the School of the Little Giants to examine the 210 children. Weight, height, eyesight, hearing, teeth and other disorders are all checked.
Several cases of malnutrition and stunted growth have been detected, some children have impaired eyesight and many have serious dental hygiene problems. Measures to combat tooth decay are being studied and will soon be implemented at the school. The local J'IRAI A L'ECOLE team will be on hand to raise awareness among parents whose children need to consult specialists.
