Andy is a charming 10-year-old boy. He receives a scholarship from J’IRAI A L’ECOLE and is in second grade. His mother, who is expecting her second child, is unemployed, while his father works six days a week as a bicycle delivery driver.

After paying the bike rental fee, his monthly salary ranges from €35 to €40. The family rents two small rooms (8 square meters each) in a house with no running water or electricity.

Yet in this modest home, sitting on the small table, is a priceless treasure that Andy’s parents gave him at the cost of many sacrifices: a solar-powered speaker with a USB port. By adding an old lightbulb as a microphone, Andy literally escapes this bleak environment. For the duration of a lip-synced song, he becomes a singer and is famous. Later, he’ll be a rapper, he’ll be on TV, and he’ll buy his mom a car.

But the song is already over; it’s time to go round up the few ducks they raise to make ends meet.
