The Embroidery Workshop

A new activity has been launched at the Petits Géants school: the Embroidery Workshop.

Two mothers of students volunteered to lead this workshop every Wednesday afternoon. It was an instant hit with both young and old, and equally popular with girls and boys.

Embroidery, an ancient art in Madagascar, is renowned worldwide and plays a significant role in the Malagasy textile industry.

Discovering and learning this craft at school is a valuable asset for the Little Giants with nimble fingers who are forced to drop out after fifth grade or middle school to start working prematurely.

However, the primary goal of J’irai à l’école remains to keep the Little Giants in school as long as possible to best support their future career prospects.
