Madagascar: A rapidly growing population!

According to the United Nations, Madagascar currently has a population of 33 million, with an annual growth rate of 2.4%—well above the global average (0.8%).
More than 60% are under the age of 25! 42% now live in cities, which is putting pressure on housing and urban services.
These figures show that Madagascar’s education and health systems must accommodate and support hundreds of thousands of children each year. This dynamic can become a real economic asset: by investing in education, vocational training, reproductive health, and access to employment, Madagascar can transform this youth into an engine of growth. But to do so, bold choices and concrete actions are needed now.
